Train Today.
Respond Better Tomorrow.
What Is CIT Training?
Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training is a nationally recognized program that prepares law enforcement officers and first responders to safely and effectively respond to individuals experiencing mental health crises, substance use emergencies, or emotional distress. The training focuses on de-escalation techniques, communication skills, and connecting individuals to appropriate community resources instead of defaulting to arrest or emergency detention when it is not necessary.
How CIT Training Benefits First Responders
CIT training helps responders:
Improve safety for officers, responders, and the public
Reduce the use of force through proven de-escalation strategies
Increase confidence when responding to mental health–related calls
Strengthen partnerships with local mental health providers and hospitals
Support better long-term outcomes for individuals in crisis
By equipping responders with practical tools and community connections, CIT training supports both effective public safety and compassionate response.
